The Winds of Winter — Ser Barristan’s “Battle” Speech

WARNING: Contains spoilers for The Winds of Winter

This is a dramatic reading of Ser Barristan Selmy’s speech before the Battle of Meereen. It is taken from Barristan’s first sample chapter in The Winds of Winter (book 6 of George R. R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire saga).

NOTE: During the speech, Barristan gets cut off after he says “time enough to make their spear wall.” So I added the final line about the “red dawn/dragon dawn” (though it does play off something Tyrion says in his sample chapter).

  1. Nicely done Duncan,

Not quite equal to Mel Gibson’s Braveheart battle speech with all the piss and shit references but close 🙂

This is brilliant! I think you should do an audiobook of the Barristan chapters 🙂
